Mandatory history and geography in Stages 4 and 5:
History and Geography are mandatory parts of the NSW curriculum for Stages 4 and 5. We are a hands-on faculty - going on excursions and using digital technologies to bring then world to life in our classrooms.

Year 7: HSIE content and skills are integrated with English to create 'Humanities'. Please see the Project-Based Learning page for more information on these exciting projects.
Year 8: Topics include 'Landscapes and Landforms', 'Interconnections', 'Medieval European History', and 'Polynesian Expansion History'.
Year 9: Topics include 'Sustainable Biomes', 'Changing Places', 'The Industrial Revolution', and 'Australians at War'.
Year 10: Topics include 'Environmental Management', 'Human Wellbeing', 'The Holocaust', and 'Changin Rights and Freedoms'.
HSIE Electives in Stages 4 and 5 :
We offer elective subjects in a range of areas:
Law and Order (Year 9) and Making Money (Year 10) are adapted from the Commerce syllabus.
International Studies and Aboriginal Studies (Years 9 and 10) are also offered.
